EVIDENCE-BASED PARTICIPATORY
RESEARCH IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS

Our Mission

Samuel Hall Institute is a Berlin-based non-profit focused on:
  • The advancement of science and research
  • Assistance to young and marginalised people
  • Humanitarian and development cooperation

Our Expertise

We produce evidence-based participatory research in complex environments – specialising in migration, resilience, children and youth.

Migration

Conducting quantitative and qualitative research into migration – including refugees, returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) – with agency and opportunity at its centre.

Resilience

Understanding what impacts the capacity of communities and individuals to cope, adapt, transform and learn in the face of socio-economic or ecological stresses and trauma.

Children & Youth

Changing the narrative around young people to protect their rights, provide access to health, education and other services, and support them to realise their ambitions.

Our Work

Whether developing tools for child labour elimination analysis or evaluating EU resilience funding, our work adheres to the highest level of ethical and academic standards.

We deliver research and analysis in the form of reports, policy briefs, evaluations, learning events, and more. Please see our 'Projects & Publications' page for more detail.
